"Play? What's play? Let's cuddle!"

Clark is a sweet and mellow gentleman who's primed to make a quick transition to his new home where he can bask in the type of quiet, relaxing life he's come to enjoy. His friends call him McDreamy because when he looks deep into your eyes, you'll fall deeply in love and know everything will be okay, and then you'll want to tell him all your secrets.

This faithful guy loves his people deeply, and there's no place Clark would rather be than right by your side. He's highly affectionate with the ones he loves and much prefers receiving affection to playing. He's a total wiggle butt with adorable little helicopter ears, and he makes the cutest noises when his friends approach his kennel. As low energy as he is, Clark still loves going for walks, his only preferred outlet for physical exercise, and he doesn't pull on leash, so he's a pleasure to go adventuring with. But you'll likely find yourself stopping to cuddle with him along the way. There's just something about this guy.

Clark plays it cool and isn't needy at all - he's a very low-maintenance fella and easy to care for. His manners at home are perfect and he even asks to get on furniture. He does great left alone free to roam the house, is completely house-trained, and he's happy to just chill by himself, looking out the window until you get back. Then he's ready for a nice walk, some chill time on the back patio or, even better, a night in cuddling on the couch.

This smart pup already knows sit and down and is learning all kinds of neat tricks in APA!'s Total Obedience Program (TOP), which is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Clark has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn the skills to become the best dog he can be! Clark is learning skills like sit and down, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "place", which means Clark will go to a specific place in your home on command.

Once Clark successfully completes all the skills on his training plan, he will be considered TOP Dog Ready! Clark is working hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with him after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193

The ideal family for Clark will make sure to keep him somewhat active, but more importantly will make time to spend with him. This homebody would be just right for a home with a slower pace of life, a predictable schedule and of course plenty of cuddle time. In return, he promises to love you forever. Come meet this great pup!
