Alexander is a super lovebug who greets everyone with a smile. He loves giving hugs to his new human friends and seems to adore everyone he meets. It's not long before he's rolled over on his back looking for belly-rubs and then jumping up to show off his adorable zoomies.

This playful guy loves to play catch and tug of war, and as much as Alexander loves toys, if there aren't any around, he'll entertain himself running around holding his own leash. While he's full of energy during playtime, Alexander is also well-mannered and knows when to chill out and settle for some cuddle time. It's times like these where he just seems to radiate calmness, sometimes finding a nice sunbeam to lay in and take a long siesta. At night Alexander loves to sleep with you or on his own bed where you'll be treated to his adorable (but soft) snoring. That's until you show him a toy - then he's up and ready to party!

Alexander loves going for rides in the car and, very adorably, in a golf cart. He's also quite the waterbug and loves to run and splash in the water on a hot Summer day. We love how happy Alexander looks even when he's just rolling around on the grass to scratch his back or holding up his favorite toy between his paws to better admire it.

Alexander has proven to be the perfect example of man's best friend in his foster home, and he recently became TOP Dog Ready! This means he has already learned all the skills in APA!'s Total Obedience Program (TOP), which is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Dogs in the program learn skills including sit and down, walking nicely on a leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers, calmly walking past another dog, staying in sit or down until told "free", coming when called and "place" which means Alexander will go to a specific place in your home on command.

Alexander has worked hard to become a wonderful companion, and as part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based https://vimeo.com/89434193

Alexander's soulful eyes tell you he's grateful to be part of the APA! family but hopes to become a new addition to a home with new people and new toys to play with. Come meet this amazing pup!
