If Princeton had an online dating profile, it may go something like: Mature mellow hunky ex-wrestling pro who enjoys leisurely strolls, comfort food (aka peanut butter and other tasty dog treats), with an attitude of taking life in as it comes, holding hands (and paws) when in the mood - I like my space and will give you yours but I do like attention and affectionate as well.

A nicely balanced fella, Princeton really is a hoot to walk with - his sturdy low set frame has a cute side to side gait as he strolls next to you at a leisurely pace. If you like to take long slow walks, he is the dog for you! While he's happy to gently trot next to you, with some inspiration, he may also make a nice running partner.

Princeton has shown awkwardly funny and adorable bursts of energy out in the play yard, but has also proven to be an impressive student in APA!'s Total Obedience Program. So much so that he recently became TOP Dog Ready, which means he has already learned all the skills in his training plan. The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Dogs in the program learn skills including walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers, calmly walking past another dog, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "place", which means Princeton will go to a specific place in your home on command.

Princeton has worked hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with him after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193

Overall, Princeton is a laid back kind of guy and in return for some affection and a treat or two, he will reward you with trustworthy companionship and maybe even a few sloppy kisses! Come meet this sweet guy!
