An energetic and affectionate gal with perfect perky ears, Breeze is a pup who's up for anything, and she lives to be her person's sidekick.
Breeze's ideal date would be a walk or run around the park, maybe a dip in the lake (she loves water), followed by relaxing with some head scratches and snuggles. When she's not burning off energy, Breeze LOVES being close to her human, resting her head on their shoulder or chest. And if you sit on the ground with her, she'll do the same thing and push you right over. There's no such thing as too close for this sweet girl. Breeze does fine meeting strangers - she's a bit aloof with new people at first, but warms up quickly, and once you have a relationship with her, she will stick by your side forever!
Breeze is fully house-trained, walks well on leash, already knows 'sit' and 'down' and comes when you call. Smart as a whip, she's very treat-motivated, eager to please and is breezing through her training in APA!'s Total Obedience Program.
The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Breeze has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help her learn the skills to become the best dog she can be! Breeze is learning skills like walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free" and "place", which means she will go to a specific place in your home on command.
Once Breeze successfully completes all the skills on her training plan, she will be considered TOP Dog Ready! Breeze is working hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with her after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based:

Breeze would love a home with active people who will include her in their adventures, and she can't wait to start playing and bonding with her forever family. Come meet her!
INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?
This pup is currently located at our Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez, but use 1200 Reserve Road for mapping purposes). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!
