An energetic and affectionate gal with perfect perky ears, Breeze is a pup who's up for anything, and she lives to be her person's sidekick.

Breeze's ideal date would be a walk or run around the park, maybe a dip in the lake (she loves water), followed by relaxing with some head scratches and snuggles. When she's not burning off energy, Breeze LOVES being close to her human, resting her head on their shoulder or chest. And if you sit on the ground with her, she'll do the same thing and push you right over. There's no such thing as too close for this sweet girl. Breeze does fine meeting strangers - she's a bit aloof with new people at first, but warms up quickly, and once you have a relationship with her, she will stick by your side forever!

Breeze gets along well with her doggie pals in playgroup, likes playing chase with them and has a rowdy play style that would be a good match with a doggie sibling who likes to mix it up as much as she does. She also really enjoys rope and puzzle toys to keep her mind occupied.

Breeze is fully house-trained, walks well on leash, already knows 'sit' and 'down' and comes when you call. Smart as a whip, she's very treat-motivated, eager to please and is breezing through her training in APA!'s Total Obedience Program.

The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Breeze has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help her learn the skills to become the best dog she can be! Breeze is learning skills like walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free" and "place", which means she will go to a specific place in your home on command.

Once Breeze successfully completes all the skills on her training plan, she will be considered TOP Dog Ready! Breeze is working hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with her after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193

Breeze would love a home with active people who will include her in their adventures and ideally a doggie playmate to help get all that energy out. She can't wait to start playing and bonding with her forever family. Come meet her!
