Lee is an easy-going, but very playful pup who wants nothing more than to find his best friend in the world. With his Texas-sized ears and a hilarious goofy smile that he breaks out when playing fetch, Lee makes for a very endearing companion.

This sharp-looking guy is very in tune to his people and is great at matching their energy - he's just as happy to chill with his person as he is to go for a long walk or play fetch, which is easily Lee's favorite pastime. He'd play fetch all day long if he could, that big smile beaming the entire time. And after he retrieves the ball, he will wait patiently by your feet until you're ready to throw it again.

Lee can be shy with new people at first, but it doesn't take him long to warm up. And once he does, you'll be treated to gentle kisses and his cute little bunny hop when he's excited to see you! Lee also enjoys going to playgroup with his canine friends at the shelter and could go home with a well-matched doggie sibling.

A very smart pup and a fast learner, Lee is fully house-trained, mastered sit, down, and shake in no time, and he's learning all kinds of new skills in APA!'s Total Obedience Program (TOP), which is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.

As a TOP dog, Lee has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn the skills to become the best dog he can be! Lee is learning skills like walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "place", which means he will go to a specific place in your home on command.

Once Lee successfully completes all the skills on his training plan, he will be considered TOP Dog Ready! Lee is working hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with him after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193

Intelligent, fun, sweet, easy-going and athletic, Lee will make the most loyal sidekick you could could ever hope for. Come meet him!
