Looking for a big old lug of a dog with a smooshable face? Brixton's got you covered. This goofy guy comes in the perfect giant size and loves his people and toys and all the playtime he can get. And the love he has for toys is legit contagious. He'll have you looking at a Kong like, "Where have you been all my life?" While he enjoys playing chase and tug of war, he absolutely LOVES fetch. Loves it. Brixton would play fetch for days if he could.

This handsome guy can be shy with new people, but he's affectionate and loving with people he knows and likes to get in close for cuddles. He also goes to playgroup with his canine friends at the shelter, he's lived with dogs in the past and could go home with a well-matched doggie sibling.

On top of being a fun-loving party animal, Brixton is also super smart and already knows sit, stay, down, come, shake, wait, leave it and drop it, so it's no surprise he's thriving in APA!'s Total Obedience Program (TOP), which is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Brixton has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn skills like sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "place", which means he will go to a specific place in your home on command. And as part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Brixton after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193

Brixton a simple dog who just wants the best things in life - a soft bed, a yard for fetch and a couple of meals a day. If you think you can handle all that, come meet this amazing pup!
