Scott is a friendly young pup who has it all - looks, smarts and personality! He loves to be with his people friends and is happy doing whatever activities you would like to do! Scott is always up for some adventures - the perfect buddy for a walk around the neighborhood or hitting the trail for a hike. He also enjoys chasing after a toy or tennis ball and will entertain you with adorable bouts of "the zoomies" when he has a chance to run around in a yard!

While Scott loves to be active, he also appreciates the importance of relaxing and napping. He warms up quickly to new friends and enjoys all the pets and gives sweet doggy kisses! He will also shake your hand - with both paws! Even though bath time isn't his absolute favorite, he is patient when it's time to get soaped up and has magical fur - not only is it soft and shiny, but it dries super fast! Scott has feedback from previous homes of being house and crate-trained. He also recently went on a sleepover with a volunteer and was noted to have great manners in the home.

Scott is smart and already knows several of his basic obedience skills and continues to learn new things in APA's Total Obedience Program (TOP), which is modeled after AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Scott has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn skills like staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "place," which means he will go to a specific place in your home on command. And as part of APA's Total Obedience Program, you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Scott after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193

Friendly, active, and easygoing, Scott is the perfect fit for both a laid back day at home and an adventure-filled day exploring the outdoors! He is a well-rounded good boy, eagerly waiting for his forever people to discover him. Come meet this great pup!

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

This pup is currently located at our Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez, but use 1200 Reserve Road for mapping purposes). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 11:30AM-6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!

Come meet your new best friend
