Sir George, a very regal young shepherd, is looking for a special someone to be his forever walking and cuddle buddy. He gets so excited for his walks that he can hardly keep his paws on the ground as he waits for you to get his leash ready!

Always ready to explore and take in all the smells of the outdoors, Sir George prefers walks in quieter, lower-traffic neighborhoods and parks, so he can enjoy the scenery without the commotion of crowds of people and other dogs.

George would love his very own fenced back yard to enjoy rolling in the grass and playing plenty of fetch and tug-o-war! This playful boy loves ALL the toys! He will happily bring the tennis ball back to you, over and over, and drop it so you can throw the next one! He will also chase after a frisbee and prance around with it adorably after he catches it.

At home, Sir George enjoys following his human companions from room to room, keeping them company. He loves attention and getting pets from his people, though, if you are busy, George will happily settle down on his own with a toy or to nap. He is also house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps through the night on his doggie bed.

Sir George also enjoys learning new things and is in APA!'s Total Obedience Program (TOP), which is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Sir George has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn the skills to become the best dog he can be! As a part of APA's Total Obedience Program, you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Sir George after adoption and master all of the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193

Sir George hopes for a home with one or two adults, and he prefers to be the only pet in the home, so he doesn't have to share the attention! Come meet this handsome, smart, playful young shepherd!
