"Oh I'm so happy to see you! What are our plans for our outing? I hopes it involves food, because I'm hungry, AGAIN!"
Skywalker is one of the smartest and most handsome fluffsters we've got! His freckles are adorable, and his big, sad eyes will melt your heart. And he always looks so clean - it makes no sense that a dog as fluffy as Skywalker who goes to playgroup twice a day always looks put together! It's magic. But his kind heart and his willingness to please the people he's with are what make him a real winner. He's the consummate love bug who just wants to play, cuddle and eat.
Skywalker stands at the gate of his kennel and watches people walk by, and when he sees someone he recognizes, he hops a little in excitement or gives sad puppy dog eyes and uses his cuteness to get extra walks and treats. He has the most hilarious expression where he looks straight up at you with just his eyes. Think of someone looking over their glasses at you. It makes him look so pitiful and irresistible and usually gets him exactly what he wants. He seems low energy in his kennel, but once Skywalker's out and about, he's ready to play and have fun. He loves going for walks and enjoys a game of two ball fetch, but he's also good at reading his walker, and if you just want to sit in the grass and pet him, he's happy to oblige. He also loves being talked to - Skywalker knows he's a good boy and it makes him happy to hear you say so.
Skywalker can be shy with new men, but once he warms up, he's just a dog who just wants to be loved. He responds well to kind words, and he loves being scratched on and petted. He'll let you rub his belly, and he'll adorably lean against you when you're getting him ready for his walk.
Skywalker really loves training because he can get TREATS! He's very food-motivated and knows that showing off his skills = snacks in his belly. And Skywalker is amazing with his commands. He knows all the basics (sit, down, place, come). If he "forgets" a command, you can give him a look that says you're on to him, and he'll "remember" how to do what you're asking. He also walks well on leash, and while he gets excited when he's about to go out and will sometimes pull a little, he's very easy to correct. And on sleepovers with volunteers, he proved to be a good house guest and asked to go out to potty and didn't show any destructive behavior. He also enjoys going to playgroup with his canine friends at the shelter and is learning that barking in their faces isn't the way to get them to play with him.
Above all else, Skywalker is a dog that just wants to go home and make his people proud, and he'd love a home with hands to pet him and hug him stuff him full of treats. If you think you can handle all that, come meet this great pup!
