Bellamy is a shy girl that can take some time to warm up to new people but once she trusts you, she's a loving and loyal friend! She's a little cat-like, in that she's perfectly content lounging and playing by herself but when she wants attention she does demand it. But as cat-like as she is, she prefers to keep her person within eyesight and will try to follow them everywhere, even sleeping outside the bedroom door so that she's the first to know when they wake up. One of her funniest characteristics is that she loves to let out a hugeeee groan when she's found a great spot to rest and when she hits just the right spot with her stretches.

Her favorite activities are chewing on her bones/rawhides/kongs (never furniture), playing with her squeaky toys, playing fetch with a tennis ball, and just running around in general! She's completely house trained, partially crate trained, and is fine sleeping in the living room at night. She is very smart and treat-oriented. She already knows sit, down, shake, come, leave it, and is always willing to learn more.

Bellamy has also designated herself as the resident guard dog and dutifully watches people and dogs that walk by, but if they get too close she's sure to bark and let them know they need to back off. Being the great guard dog that she is, Bellamy is very wary of strangers and will need some time and patience before she trusts new guests. She does also take anti-anxiety medicine so she would be best fit for a calm, quiet low-traffic home. This lovely girl needs a patient, understanding family that will help her break out of her shell and teach her what a great dog's life is all about. Come meet her!
