We all have the idea of an "ideal partner." Someone loyal but not clingy, a foodie but not pretentious, and funny but sincere... have you met Carlos?

Carlos is a happy pup who loves his people. He'll hang out with you all day, but is never needy or bothersome if you're otherwise occupied and stays busy between his toys and naps. He is house and crate-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. This pup even has good manners! In foster, he's never once eaten unattended food off the table (even though he really wants to). Carlos knows basic commands like sit, stay, and free and will listen to "no." He is at a young, trainable age and responds to treats. So, he looks forward to what else you can teach him!

Carlos has a positive outlook on life - what most dogs hate, he relishes in (or at least quietly tolerates). He's always happy to meet new people, including the vet, who said he was easy-going and delighted to have so much attention. Carlos is always eager for a Sunday drive, during which he sits in the backseat enjoying the world whizzing by. He'll even stay still for a bath without any fuss.

He loves to run and play but doesn't need to burn a lot of energy before he's tired. Once inside, Carlos relaxes in his crate. Going on walks can be stressful for him, particularly when he passes cats or other dogs, but with some training, he can one day walk like a pro. In the meantime, playing fetch in the yard suits him just fine (check out his fetch featurette video).

Carlos's foster parents love him dearly and know he will make his forever home a brighter place. Carlos is ready for somebody who will show him the same love he gives to everyone he meets. Come meet Carlos and see for yourself what an ideal partner he can be!

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

We are currently closed to the public and are only open by appointment (foster or adopter), but we are still diligently working to place dogs in foster homes! You can inquire about fostering a specific dog by submitting an inquiry through the dog's individual profile on this website or by emailing [email protected] to get more information about how to be matched with a foster dog.

Please do not visit our shelters without talking with us first. To prevent community spread, we cannot have large crowds gathering in our shelters.
