Sweet Saisy had a difficult start in life--she was born with paralysis of her back legs -- and then she was abandoned in the woods!
Happily, this little survivor was rescued and now she's an exuberant young puppy who loves life -- and everyone she meets! As of August 2020, she's roughly 7 months old and around 25 pounds and will likely be around 30 pounds when she's full grown. Her condition required the amputation of her right back leg to make it easier for her to move around. She has now mastered using her wheelchair and can also easily hop around the house without it. She's currently doing water therapy to build her muscle strength as she's growing. Saisy does not have much bladder/bowel control so she wears diapers and needs to be cleaned up multiple times a day. This adorable little girl loves other dogs, people and kids and even gets along just fine with cats! Saisy would do best in a home with plenty of people and other pets to keep her company and play with her. She would love it if her person worked from home--or could take her to work with them! She has a dog stroller and loves sitting in it to go for walks, as well as a carry sling bag so you can easily tote her around. As long as she's with her person, she's content to sit in your lap for hours. Saisy has a lot of love to give her forever family, and though her medical issue may make her a bit different, her sweet nature and loveable zest for life will win your heart!

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
