Possibly for the first time in her life, Dandy is learning what it's like to live in a safe, secure home with kind and loving humans. And wow, she's so happy! Dandy came to foster as a skinny, stray mom, nursing eight puppies. She was an awesome mama, carrying them around the house. Today, she wants to be with her new human friends, raising her paw to ask for pets and those belly rubs she loves so much.

This sweet lady also enjoys going for walks and is a dream on her leash, always staying by her walking buddy's side throughout the neighborhood. At home, she has fun playing like a puppy with her chew toys, especially the hard bones and peanut butter Kongs, and doing zoomies. Dandy is a house-trained girl who is happy to take naps in her crate, she just wants her people to be nearby.

Dandy is still learning some details about living with new people, but she's already decided she wants to protect them. She especially loves female humans and would be happy to be their loyal bodyguard. She hopes to be the only dog in a low-traffic home. Follow her journey on Instagram at dand_y_lion. Come meet Dandy, she'll want to follow you home!

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

We are currently closed to the public and are only open by appointment (foster or adopter), but we are still diligently working to place dogs in foster homes! You can inquire about fostering a specific dog by submitting an inquiry through the dog's individual profile on this website or by emailing [email protected] to get more information about how to be matched with a foster dog.

Please do not visit our shelters without talking with us first. To prevent community spread, we cannot have large crowds gathering in our shelters.
