Meet Lucy! We all looooooove this pup... and when you meet this tall, lean girl, you'll understand why! She just exudes joy and happiness, and who doesn't want that in their lives?! We have learned that Lucy is a water baby! You name it - hose, pool, puddle, your water bottle - she wants to be a part of it. She also loves affection and will lean into you so that you have no choice but to pet her. And after y'all cuddle, Lucy is happy to play some fetch!

Lucy is such a derpy youngin'! She was originally found as a stray; that family wanted to keep her but couldn't, and so after a few months, they brought her to the shelter. Lucy lived with kids in age ranging from 9-15 years old so could potentially go home with an older child. She could go home with a large breed dog, but Lucy has a rough and rowdy play style and doesn't always listen to appropriate corrections, so any resident dogs would need to be tolerant of that.

Lucy's notes indicate that she is house trained and crate trained. Lucy's ideal home would be with an active family who wants a doggo to take on adventures, and then cuddle up with on the couch! Come meet her!

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

We are currently closed to the public and are only open by appointment (foster or adopter), but we are still diligently working to place dogs in foster homes! You can inquire about fostering a specific dog by submitting an inquiry through the dog's individual profile on this website or by emailing [email protected] to get more information about how to be matched with a foster dog.

Please do not visit our shelters without talking with us first. To prevent community spread, we cannot have large crowds gathering in our shelters.
