Toby: "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways!"

Toby is a lover like no other. He's generous with his kisses and doesn't hold back on the hugs either. Toby is not content with letting you pet him. If you're giving him love, he reaches out to give you some in return. And those eyes... you have never seen such loving eyes!

This bounding bundle of joy is a special boy looking for a special home. You see, he's never been in a home. Everything is new to him, including walking on a leash. ("What's this thing? Oh, we're playing tug of war! I love that game!") Rather than being fearful and overwhelmed by everything, he's endlessly excited about exploring and discovering this whole new world.

Did we mention how goofy he is? Toby makes hilarious grunting noises when he's frustrated. In his crate, he rolls over onto his back and lays there, legs spread, front paws curled in, and tongue hanging out of his upside-down head, revealing his adorable white beard.

Toby-the-one-and-only is high energy and very strong. This guy needs plenty of mental stimulation to wear him out. He'd probably do best in a single-dog household with an active family. He hasn't had an opportunity to interact with cats or kids yet, so we'll have to wait and see on that front.

Toby needs someone who is willing to invest the time and energy into helping him adjust to his new life. Seldom will you experience a love as strong and loyal as Toby's. Are you the one to make his forever home dreams come true?

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

We are currently closed to the public and are only open by appointment (foster or adopter), but we are still diligently working to place dogs in foster homes! You can inquire about fostering a specific dog by submitting an inquiry through the dog's individual profile on this website or by emailing [email protected] to get more information about how to be matched with a foster dog.

Please do not visit our shelters without talking with us first. To prevent community spread, we cannot have large crowds gathering in our shelters.
