Cookie, cookie cookie - do you love cookies? Then come meet Cookie Monster! This active, mischievous, playful, smart, loving, and goofy boy loves affection, cuddles, and other canine playmates. It's hard to resist his hyena face and adorable white paw. He is also a super cuddler, and loves to be near his humans when they are chilling out. He will lay his head right in your lap and gaze soulfully into your eyes. He also loves to be in the middle of his humans on the couch. Cookie takes a bit to warm up to new humans and men are especially scary to him, so patience and time is something that he will need.

Cookie could potentially be an excellent exercise dog, and he would love a home where he can be active and get some nice long walks during the day. He is a smart pup who can sometimes be a bit stubborn, and he needs continued training on manners - he can pay and nip at his humans when he wants attention. He also has an adorable quirk where he steals socks - forget losing your socks in the dryer, Cookie will take them all! He has another adorable habit of making lots of little grunting and barking noises when he zooms!

Cookie needs to be in a crate when his humans are away on their pesky errands. He will typically whine while his humans are away. His foster family has been crate-training him, and he's doing better. He enjoys eating treats and sleeping in his crate, but prefers not to be left alone in his crate. He has also made huge strides in his potty training, and has been going to the door when it's that time of day.

Cookie has been learning his leash training and would love a family to continue with his leash manners because he can be reactive to other dogs and other people on the leash. He is generally very well behaved, but needs some additional training when it comes to human food. He has been working really hard, and is doing much better.

An ideal home for Cookie would be one that is adults only, with parents that are around a lot and who have training experience. He would do best in a low traffic home with a yard, and lots of activity and structure.

If you are looking for that adorable Cookie Monster to cuddle with, then come meet this sweet boy and let him steal your cookies!

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
