Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a pet deer? This little guy is so timid and exotic looking, with long gangly legs, an expressive face, and unique coloring, that he sometimes seems more like a mythical woodland creature than just a regular dog.

Shy is a special little guy who really lives up to his name. He is very quiet and shy and prefers to mostly sit back and observe the world for now.... but with patience and the right home environment, we know he could really bloom.

Shy is house trained, well behaved, and doesn't bark (at least not so far), and is a pretty low energy dog. Once he gains confidence, we expect he will enjoy playing with toys but he's not quite there yet in his foster home.

Shy likes other dogs, and they help him feel safe, so we think he would prefer a home with another dog about his size who is willing to play but is also patient enough to wait until Shy is ready. He'd like a low traffic home with patient people who are willing to go slow to earn his trust. He loves to sleep in bed with his foster person and foster brothers, and that's when he shows his snuggly side. He also enjoys watching movies on the couch or sunbathing in the backyard.

But Shy's favorite part of the day is when it is time for his walk. He walks very nicely on the leash and does not pull or lunge or bark at other dogs. His daily leash walks around the neighborhood are really helping to build his confidence. Come meet Shy and help him continue to come out of his shell!
