Bayard is a calm, well-trained boy who asks very little of his new human friends. Give him a cuddle and a walk and he'll love you and be your loyal best friend forever. Now in foster care, this sweet boy has been very friendly to all new people he's met on his walks and he wants to get to know them. And when new friends come to visit, he'll wag his whole body, so extremely happy to see them.

He likes being outdoors and loves going for walks, runs and jogs, even though he has some joint pain in his hips and back leg. He may pull hard on his leash, especially if he sees a squirrel, and to sniff and explore. He's encountered dogs of all sizes and wants to go meet them, but has never been aggressive to them or the kids he's been interested in. At home, he loves to join his person on the couch, asking for cuddles, belly rubs and resting his head in his lap and just snoozing while he watches TV.

A very polite boy, he understands basic commands such as "stay" and sometimes responds to "sit." He's a house-trained pup who prefers to free-roam the house, but is comfortable in his crate, happy to relax and sleep there when his foster is away.

Bayard will love a home in a quiet neighborhood with parents who can take him for walks and a yard he can exercise in, explore and sniff those green things. Come meet this boy, he'll want to be your best friend forever.
