If you've never met a wallaby before, here is your chance! Wallaby is a gentle, playful dog who is currently recuperating from a broken leg in his current foster home, and he is showing us a great temperament and kind nature. We think he will make a fun companion once he's fully healed!

Since Wallaby has been healing, he hasn't been allowed to try play sessions with other dogs and his activity has been limited. He does fine in his crate when his humans are away and he also likes to sleep in his crate at night and often spends time there during the day. He is house trained and he waits by the door when he needs to go out, and hasn't had any accidents in the house.

When Wallaby is out, he walks well on leash. He doesn't try to pull, but is anxious to sniff around and explore. He also has basic obedience skills. He's always polite and respectful of humans, and you'll find him to be very well mannered, submissive and quiet. Wallaby will sometimes seek out human affection, and he does like to cuddle. He will walk up for pets and sometimes lie down at your feet and next to his favorite people.

Once Wallaby is up to full speed, we think he'll be much more interested in playing with his dog toys. He'll no doubt become more active, but doesn't seem like the type who will need constant exercise or stimulation. We love his mid-size physique and quite calm nature!

Bring Wallaby home now, and in no time, you'll have a fun, loving long-term companion for your family. And don't forget, when you adopt from APA you won't just be giving one dog a good home - you'll also be helping the next dog who can join us!

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

We are currently closed to the public and are only open by appointment (foster or adopter), but we are still diligently working to place dogs in foster homes! You can inquire about fostering a specific dog by submitting an inquiry through the dog's individual profile on this website or by emailing [email protected] to get more information about how to be matched with a foster dog.

Please do not visit our shelters without talking with us first. To prevent community spread, we cannot have large crowds gathering in our shelters.
