Shell is a very sweet mixed-breed puppy who loves the attention of humans. Her foster mom calls her "Shelly" and she seems to respond positively to her calls. Although she has a bit of an underbite, she is eating and drinking like a normal pup and absolutely loves to cuddle with people. She also is doing great with two resident dogs. She respects their space, knows boundaries, and responds to calls and interactions.

Crate and house training are going well in foster! The only accident she has had was caused by the excitement of being let outside once with all of the other dog activity around her. She is a puppy and does need to be let outside regularly when not crated. She is doing great in her crate. She may do some whimpering when foster humans leave the room, but she quiets down very quickly as long as she has had enough activity and exercise.

Her foster mom thought for sure she would not enjoy any separation from her sister, Ocean, but Shell seems to be livin' large anytime (see photo lounging at the pool!). Come meet this adorable girl.

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
