Do you have a little extra love to share? Then come meet Pluto! This shy youngster is currently living in an APA! foster home. She needs a little TLC and some confidence as she learns to trust people. With a bit of patience, we're sure she'll turn into a fantastic long-term companion!

Pluto's favorite part about her new foster family is their dog. She loves to play with him, especially outside! And she doesn't let the neighbor's barking dogs bother her. But she is just beginning to trust humans. We can tell she wants to be friends with people, but is having some trouble taking her first steps. All people seem to be scary to her at the moment, but we can see that she'll eventually gain confidence and she wants to learn!

We're already seeing her make some progress. She loves going for walks and will stay right with you on leash. She's curious about the world around her, but she can get spooked so she prefers a slow pace.

She's also great in her crate - it's her safe space, and she can often be found relaxing inside it. When people leave the home, she tends to stay in her crate, though we think she's starting to do some exploring when the house is quiet! We're trying to help Pluto learn some basic obedience skills. She's house trained already, and once she gains some confidence and trusts her people, we think she'll enjoy training.

Pluto's curious nature bodes well for her growth. She loves to roll around on wet grass, kicking her feet with pure joy. She balances on the rocks surrounding the flower beds in the yard, and sniffs the air like a true explorer. She has a happy bounce in her trot and gives will give eye contact with her beautiful eyes. She can't hide her friendly fun nature that will eventually come out for good!

This pup has wonderful potential. She's polite and respectful of humans, and is gentle and quiet around the house. Pluto would do best in a calm environment with patient humans. She would really love another dog in the home who could not only be her playmate but also help her learn how awesome humans are! It will take her some time to become be a cuddly pup, but the wait will be worth it. And when you give Pluto a home, you'll be helping the next dog who can join our program!
