Sweet Chiquis is ready to wiggle into your lap and heart! Chicky is an absolute sweetheart. Truly a little dork, she will awkwardly wobble her way over and then flop into your arms. When not in your lap, she is happy to nap on the floor near you. She is still figuring out toys, but will carry her favorite orange racoon around the house. She's new to living in a home, but she's settled down nicely!

Chicky is a little wary of new people, but the second she decides you're okay, she wiggles right over to say hello! She's a curious pup who loves to explore, but will come running back as soon as you call her. She is house-trained and is working on answering to sit and stay. She's very quiet aside from a rare single bark when she wants to play. Eager to please, she responds well to positive encouragement. She's new to leash walking and tends to lay down if pulled, but she happily follows you if you give her a little time and let her make the first move.

Chicky loves praise and will very gently accept treats and pets in return for good behavior. She happily gets away from any space she is asked to leave and hasn't chewed anything she isn't supposed to. Although her fosters' dog isn't super interested in playing with her, she has learned to respect his space, so they happily sniff each other and run around the yard. She's very submissive with other dogs and people, so she's a very gentle playmate. She'd love a puppy companion to play with, but human love is plenty for this sweety!

Chicky is on distemper watch and oral medications. She seems to be doing pretty well. She would be a wonderful wiggly addition to a loving home, and she hopes to sit in your lap for your next movie marathon. Come meet Chicky! PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
