Saxa is such a people lover. In return, this puppy wants their love, and she'll beg for it, wanting to be held and cuddled, petted and scratched. That's not the only thing she loves, though. She loves to play outdoors, run laps around the yard, play with toys and go on walks. And food time is her favorite time.

She's now in foster care with her sister, and they're sharing the house with two older pitty mixes. She got to know them by licking at their snouts through a gate and wagging her tail, and now she loves to play tag and tug with them. She's separate from a kitty that's being fostered, and barks when she sees her and other cats walking past the house, but stops when told to. She's a smart girl who's very responsive to commands, learning about "sit" and obeying when told "get in your crate." And, very food motivated, she knows what "treat" means.

This friendly, playful girl also enjoys leash walking, keeping pace with her person and walking nicely alongside other dogs. She has jumped on people and other dogs and has been mouthy when she's excited and wants attention, but is learning to respect their boundaries. She's also making strides on both her potty- and crate-training, letting it be known when she needs to leave her crate for a trip outside.

Saxa hopes for a home with a lot of space for playing, and she'll love a family who can take her on walks and hikes and give her cuddles and continue her training. She will be happy as the only pet, but also will love having dog buddies, and should be a great playmate for kids. Come meet this adorable girl. PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
