Rex is a very energetic young boy who wants to please his human friends, and in return he sure wants their petting, cuddles and attention. Now in foster care, he also loves to play in the yard with his sibling brother, and then go on walks and jogs with his foster parent. He pulls on his leash and is curious and playful with other dogs he sees. And he may jump up on people, so his foster is teaching him to not do that.

At home, this mischievous boy loves chewing his bones and toys, and he's happy to take naps in his crate. He's also a house-trained boy who will paw and whine to let you know when he needs to go outside. He sleeps well in his crate overnight and does well when his fosters are away.

Rex is a loving, independent boy who hopes for a home with patient parents who will take him on those hikes and jogs he loves. He will also enjoy a dog buddy to play with. Because he's very excited by cats, he will need a cat-free home. Come meet this sweet, bouncy boy!

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

We are currently closed to the public and are only open by appointment (foster or adopter), but we are still diligently working to place dogs in foster homes! You can inquire about fostering a specific dog by submitting an inquiry through the dog's individual profile on this website or by emailing [email protected] to get more information about how to be matched with a foster dog.

Please do not visit our shelters without talking with us first. To prevent community spread, we cannot have large crowds gathering in our shelters.
