Stormie is the total dog package! She is sweet-natured and loves to be cuddled and be loved on. She will wiggle herself into your arms and want to be held close as she gives you kisses and nuzzles. She loves to get some hugs first thing in the morning and will do a goofy tap dance at your feet until you oblige. What Stormie loves the most though is playing fetch, and she's really good at it! She will sit and wait for you to throw the ball, and then dazzle you with her speed, agility, and leaps in the air as she runs to retrieve it. Stormie already knows to bring the ball back to you and drop it at your feet so you can throw it again! She also loves swimming and rivals the best dog divers with her running leaps and fearless dives into the water after her beloved tennis ball! Stormie will make you laugh with her little "piggy grunts as she works hard to swim that ball back to you. She will happily play with you as long as you want and then is also happy to transition to a new activity when you are!

Stormie has been an excellent house guest in her foster's home. She is fully crate trained and will go in her crate on command and rest or play quietly for up to 8 hours at a time. Stormie seems to remember what it's like to be an inside dog and has made herself at home grabbing her favorite plushie or Nylabone and flopping down on the rug for a good chew. She is still working on furniture manners but listens to "off or "no commands and is quickly corrected. Stormie also knows "sit, "wait, will come when you call her, and has great door manners when entering or exiting the house. She would enjoy a family that will continue to teach her all the basic commands. She is a quick learner and wants to please! Stormie has had no bathroom accidents while in her crate and is about 90% house trained! She's only had the rare "excited accident while en route to go outside for potty time. Stormie is still working on her leash manners, but with time and consistency, she will be an excellent walking or jogging buddy.

Stormie would make the perfect "starter dog for any family that is new to owning a dog. She's under 2 years old so she still has that puppy energy, but she's old enough to have some of the basic behavior down that makes a great house dog. She's very smart and is highly trainable, even for someone that has little to no dog training experience. Stormie has shown that she is willing to do most anything for some affection and the occasional bite of hotdog. It's hard to believe she ended up at the shelter in the first place and the family that adopts her will truly get a rare gem of a loving companion. Come meet Stormie!

Stormie's ideal home would include a private, fenced backyard for playtime. She wants a family that will play with her, take her for walks, take her swimming, and include her as a real part of the family. Being with her people is her biggest reward and she will happily shadow you anywhere and everywhere, especially if there's some intermittent playtime or cuddles.

Come meet and fall in love with Stormie today!
