Last night, Austin's Animal Advisory Commission unanimously approved a list of programs and policies that they recommend be implemented at Town Lake Animal Center to make Austin a No Kill city. The list of reforms includes off-site adoptions, a large-scale foster program, the development of concrete plans for an adoption center on Town Lake, and consideration of outsourcing of services to nonprofit partners. These reforms received the widespread and unanimous support of all Commission members.
Now the ball is in the City Council's court and that's where you can come in. To help support making Austin a No Kill city, you can e-mail the Austin City Council (all in just one e-mail) by clicking this link and asking them to adopt the Animal Advisory Commission's No Kill recommendations in their entirety: bit.ly/19xZG.
