Coraline showed up at APA!'s doors in immense pain after being struck by a car. Originally brought to Bastrop County Animal Services following the incident, our friends at that shelter reached out for help concerning Coraline's long list of injuries. The car that struck her caused severe pelvic and femur fractures, knocked both of her hips out of socket, and left her with several other wounds and scrapes.
Our clinic team determined she would require at least one orthopedic surgery, if not multiple, and lots of ongoing medical attention. Even though Coraline was suffering through unimaginable pain, every human from her rescue at Bastrop to her intake here at APA! said that she has the sweetest demeanor and even still loves to be petted.
We were able to raise $3,000 for her orthopedic surgery through our medical chip-in fund. Coraline was able to make her way to a loving foster home to heal. That's when CJ found Coraline on our website.
"I look on the website a lot since I just love fostering dogs," said CJ, Coraline's young foster.
CJ's brother Brody loves corgis, so when she came across Coraline, a corgi-mix, CJ emailed our foster team with her mother's permission. Shortly after, Coraline was on her way to the family's home for recovery, rest, and relaxation.

After just two weeks with CJ and her family, Coraline is back on all fours and will soon be running into her forever home. Coraline’s recovery and transformation was made possible because of support from our donors.
