In just a few short months since Dog Behavior Program Manager Mike Kaviani came on board, Austin Pets Alive! has made great strides implementing important new programs. Playgroups for the dogs, pre- and post-adoption behavior and training support, and now dog-handling classes for the volunteers are all adding to the dogs' quality of life while they wait for adoption.
The goal of these new dog-handling classes is two-fold: To help the volunteers learn consistent and proper techniques for handling the dogs, and to teach the dogs simple commands and appropriate doggie manners which help them become more adoptable and more likely to live happily ever after in their forever homes.
