Austin Pets Alive! Helps More than 8,000 Pets in 2011

2011 has been a year for the books. From wildfires to adoption challenges, we're thankful for the support we've received from the community that has allowed us to help the most animals yet.
We brought 5,203 cats and dogs into our rescue program, bringing our total number of rescued pets to 11,500 since 2008. From bottle baby kittens to puppies infected with parvovirus, dogs suffering from severe mange and left to die in fields, we've had an absolutely incredible year in lifesaving. Additionally, we served approximately 2,400 animals through our PASS program, which helps keeps animals out of the shelter, and through marketing, helped another 450 animals who were to be euthanized at our city shelter instead get adopted directly from the shelter when we didn't have space in our program for them.
Thank you to all of our supporters, donors, volunteers, fosters, and of course, adopters who have made these amazing numbers possible. We'll continue our mission to keep Austin no-kill and help other communities learn from our success this year. Cheers to 2012!
