Barkitecture Austin 2016 to Benefit Austin Pets Alive!

June 7, 2016 (Austin, TX) - Austin Pets Alive! is proud to announce that Barkitecture Austin has selected APA! as its partner and beneficiary for their official Barkitecture Austin 2016 Event. Now in its 12th year, and in a prime new location on South Congress, this annual designer doghouse show and auction has helped raise more than $100,000 for animal rescue groups across Central Texas and is poised for 2016 to be its best year ever .
Barkitecture Austin brings together local and national design-build talent to create one-of-a-kind designer dog houses that are auctioned to raise money for select rescue groups. Past participants include top local talent like Dick Clark and Associates and Luis Jauregui.
“Austin Pets Alive! is thrilled to be this year’s beneficiary,” said Elizabeth Free, APA!’s corporate relations manager. “We live in a community full of givers, and are - beyond grateful for all the heart put into helping homeless and disadvantaged animals. Everyone at Austin Pets Alive! is ‘tugging on their leash’ in anticipation of the amazing dog houses the super-talented Austin design-build will create!”
Barkitecture Austin 2016 benefiting APA! is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Jo’s Coffee on South Congress, with local celebrity guest judges, awards for the top doghouses, a silent auction, and vendor booths with samples and interactive demonstrations.
“Animal Lovers of Austin, Inc. is delighted to be working with literally one of the best canine rescue operations in the whole country this year,” said Chelsea Kloss, Barkitecture co-chair. “Combined with our perfect new location on South Congress, the experience, passion, and pride that will go into this event are sure to make it the best Barkitecture ever and seriously FUN!”
