Hello! My name is Cashmere! I am a 5 month old pit bull from Austin, TX. My last owners thought that I would look tougher without my ears so they tried to remove them. As I am at least 4 months old, the cartilage in my ears was fully developed, so this amateur, unethical procedure was very painful and has left me physically scarred. As a result of this “cosmetic” abuse, I now have a raging bacterial infection on the site where my beautiful ears once wagged playfully. (see photo here)
I am so very lucky that APA! saved me from the shelter, as I am now resting comfortably with a caring foster and am getting the medical attention I need to heal what is left of my poor ears! APA! is taking really good care of me, but my medical expenses are adding up daily. If any of you nice people that are reading about me could give even $1.00 towards my expenses it would enable me and other shelter friends of mine to continue getting proper medical care. I can’t wait to be adopted by a family that loves me for the dog I am--a bright, playful pit bull ready to forgive and forget my tough beginning.
