Dog breed restrictions breed prejudice, not safety

The dog breed restrictions that are put in place by rental agencies are something that every renter and puppy-parent are forced to abide by.
These breed restrictions are set in place to allegedly increase the safety of the community over which a landlord sees. However, these restrictions do not take in to account a dog's behavior, training, or temperament.
A prime example of the misfortune that comes from these is Kelly, an 8-month-old pup that appears to be a pit bull so she is being removed from her home despite the fact that her parents had obtained permission to have her from the previous landlord. When a new owner took charge of the property which Kelly and her family lived, Kelly was forced back in to the shelter.
