My name is Evita and I'm a 2 1/2 year old Border Collie mix. Some of my APA! people thought I should write my very own blog post telling people how wonderful I am. I'm kind of new to this internet thing and it's not easy to type with paws, but I'll give it a go!
Actually, trying new things is something I’ve been doing a lot of lately. When I first came to APA!, I was so frightened that I would cower in my pen and army crawl along the ground when I was out on walks. I’d tell you all what happened to make me feel so afraid if I could.
Fortunately, I have come a very long way since those first days of being rescued. Now, when I see someone I know coming, I get so excited that my entire body wiggles and I get a big smile on my face. My foster dad says I'm so happy and relaxed at home that you wouldn't even recognize me as that same, frightened dog!
In fact, I’ve recently started to feel brave enough to hang out at APA!’s site on the Lady Bird Lake hike & bike trail. It’s so fun there! I get to go on walks and make lots of new people and doggie friends. Truth be told, I’m kind of a flirt these days! Everyone who has met me on one of my brave new adventures to the trail site says that I’m amazing and am a very sweet, pretty girl. My APA people say they agree and that they love me very much. They’d also really like to see me find a home soon.
You see, I’ve been with APA! for a VERY long time. I’m not really sure why. Who wouldn’t want an intelligent, affectionate girl with so much love and boundless snuggles to give? I get along well with people of all shapes and sizes, am good with other dogs, house trained, well-mannered, and walk very nicely on a leash. I’m also told I have that special something that just brings a smile to people’s faces. It must be true because my APA! people sure do give me lots of smiles, hugs, and (my favorite!) belly rubs. They also tell me they are very proud of how well I’m doing and can’t wait to see me find a forever home as special as I am!
If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted snuggle bug to keep your feet toasty and warm your heart, come get to know me! Continuing on my journey with me will be such a rewarding experience for the lucky person who takes me home! To meet me, just check out where I’ll be each day or email [email protected] to make an appointment with my foster dad if I'm relaxing at home and not on-site! I can’t wait to meet you!
