TLAC called us yesterday about a dog in their care who they think was burned with an accelerant or chemical. She was found wandering around a trailer park, but it's unknown if she lived there. TLAC is doing a cruelty investigation and have been tending to her wounds, but she needs out of the shelter and into a quiet foster home where she can recover. They tell us that she has been a calm and gentle patient. She is a one year old brown lab mix. You can see her full photos here and here (warning: these photos are graphic). (Full press release is here. Update: there was some miscommunication before we got her and we thought that she was a he.)
We are pulling her out of TLAC and putting her into a foster home today. Her foster will be giving her medication, including pain meds, and doing 2x daily hydrotherapy treatments on her - using pressurized water to clean the wounds and speed healing.
There's a good chance that she will need surgery and we're estimating that her care is going to cost over $1,000, but our vet hasn't evaluated her yet, so we don't the full extent of her injuries. Austin, we can really use your help to care for this girl. Please consider making a donation to help us give her the care she needs.
