I am not a cat person. Like at all. So one night at work I'm looking on Craigslist for a dog. I come across this ad saying "Meet Vienna!" I knew about Austin Pets Alive and thought "Wow. What a pretty name for a pup." So I clicked.
And here was the most beautiful, photogenic little kitten. And I decided to read the ad. She was perfect. Sweet, snuggly, and best of all, claw conscious! So I emailed APA asking to meet her. I never thought I'd get a response the very next day, let alone a text from the foster mom asking when would be a good time for a visit.
So my boyfriend and I go to see the kitten. I'm skeptical, but I think he knew something great was about to happen because he just kept saying how cool it was that we were doing this. (He's a cat person.)
I get there, and she has this tiny bow on her. Foster mama hands her to me, and she immediately begged for five or six kisses and proceeded to bury herself in my neck. I knew right then and there that I needed her.
I waited a week to make sure it was the right decision and timing, and then I went in and adopted my baby girl! Together with my boyfriend and goldfish, she is my whole world! She snuggles me when I come home from work each morning and loves on all my guests.
I can't believe she's ours, and I'm glad she is. Thank you, Austin Pets Alive!! My life is enriched for having this girly in my life!
