The Neonatal Ward has been hit really hard this season, and it's only April! June is typically the month with the highest volume, so the bottle baby program is in for a huge year. Right now, we need fosters. The kittens shown in this photo are in the nursery now and really want to be in someone's home. We need volunteers to open up a bathroom, laundry room, closet, or guest bedroom to house kittens until they are old enough and big enough for surgery at 2 months old/2lbs.
You'll then be contacted for a short phone interview.
Once approved, you will be trained and can pick your kittens the same day!
WHAT SUPPLIES DO I NEED?
A quiet room where kittens can nap, eat, play and be safe
A digital kitchen scale to weigh them frequently to make sure they are growing. Even kittens who eat on their own should be weighed periodically.
Heat source for the young ones
Kitten food (wet and dry)
Non-clumping cat litter
Small litterbox
Love, cuddling & lots of kisses!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
All medications, spay/neuter, or other medical is handled by APA! at no cost to fosters.
Fosters of bottle babies can purchase formula and bottle kits from the Nursery at cost. These supplies are also available at Petco and Tomlinson's locally.
Non-clumping cat litter is the least expensive litter you can buy, or you can also use shredded paper or pellet-type litter, such as Yesterday's News.
There is an assortment of kitten food available on the market at reasonable prices.
