The City of Austin will hold its final Town Hall meeting regarding proposed budget cuts on Tuesday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Givens Recreation Center.
One cut that Austin Pets Alive! is concerned with affects spay and neuter services provided by Emancipet in low income areas. If this funding is affected, it will result in an increase of unwanted puppies and kittens, increased intake at TLAC, and increased killing of dogs and cats at TLAC.
We want as many APA! volunteers, fosters and friends as possible to attend this final meeting. While the Town Hall meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. we suggest you arrive early at 5:45 p.m. as parking has been an issue at prior Town Hall meetings. Please wear your APA! shirt. Ask your friends and family to attend. This meeting is a great civics lesson for kids too.
Stop by the APA! table out front of Givens Recreation Center to pick up handouts. We will also have a voter registration table out front. Please plan to attend and support spay and neuter services in Austin's low income areas.
If you would like to help hand out fliers prior to the event please email Brad Beam at brad[email protected].
Thank you.
