For one hundred and eighty-five days, Lollipop has been waiting patiently for a home. (That's 3.5 dog years!) This beautiful brindled girl was picked up roaming the streets of Austin as a stray. When the new city shelter became overcrowded, she was moved back to the old shelter at Town Lake, currently in the hands of Austin Pets Alive! Thankfully, Lollipop won the hearts of some APA volunteers and she was rescued by them.
Lollipop recently spent three weeks with a professional trainer. She knows sit, stay, come and place. Now she's looking for a home where she can show off those skills and continue to learn more. All she wants from you are the basics -- belly rubs, a safe place to live and lots of love!
Lollipop enjoys hanging out with her people and going on walks. She's so excited to be taking a walk with you that she'll pull on the leash a bit until she settles down. Once she does, she will walk politely by your side. Lollipop has become a volunteer favorite for jogs around the Town Lake Trail. Lollipop is also a charitable kind of girl. A volunteer took her to the recent Wagathon Walkathon, and Lollipop did fantastic! She wanted to be friends with every person and canine that she met, even the herd of horses (errr, Great Danes) that she was walking near.
Lollipop does suffer from FOL (Fear of Linoleum). Thankfully, her FOL condition is easily treatable with some tasty treats and a little bit of love and affection! Lollipop is also house-trained.
