Lowe’s Heroes Day At Austin Pets Alive!
October 19, 2015 (Austin, TX)-An Austin area Lowe’s store is giving back to Austin Pets Alive! and Town Lake Animal Center by holding their Heroes Day project on October 20 from 7am to 4pm to help rejuvenate the animal shelter, located in downtown Austin.
More than 50 additional volunteers from area businesses will help Lowes and Austin Pets Alive! complete the project within a single day’s time.
“It’s that time of year again when we get the privilege of rolling up our sleeves and serving our community and we’ve chosen Austin Pets Alive! to give back through our Lowe’s Heroes Day this year,” stated Zach Newlin, the project manager from Lowe’s Bee Caves location. “This year’s project will be broken down into three sub-projects: Fencing, Painting and Landscaping. APA! has helped me personally in finding the newest member of my family, and I hope rejuvenating the property in and around Town Lake Animal Center will provide families and animals a great experience for many years to come.”
Sherwin Williams has generously donated all of the paint needed for this project. Lowe’s Bee Caves Location has also been holding a tool drive for Austin Pets Alive! to collect lawn equipment, maintenance tools and other home improvement items.
“A huge thank you to Zach Newlin and all the volunteers from Lowe’s who originally approached us about Heroes Day,” said Monica Dangler, Volunteer Coordinator for Austin Pets Alive!, “We are really looking forward to beautifying the grounds here at TLAC and seeing our community of volunteers come together to make our animal shelter even better for our pets.”
Austin Pets Alive! would also like to thank Einstein Bros. Bagels, Schlotzsky’s, Gwyndow’s Window Cleaning and The Burt Group who have all stepped up to support this Lowe’s Heroes Day.
