Millie became an infamous face around Austin Pets Alive! during her short stay with us. Her severe underbite gave her a very distinct look. Luckily for Millie, even with what some referred to as fangs sticking out of her mouth at all times, her forever human found her and fell in love with her unique look - teeth and all - and Millie has since been adopted.
Upon her initial arrival to APA!, Millie’s visit to our medical clinic determined the obvious - Millie had severe dental disease and would require quite a few extractions to make her mouth more comfortable. When a dog has canines that are angled out laterally, it does make for some meme worthy photographs but it’s a mouthful of discomfort for the dog. At 8 years old, Millie likely had issues eating and drinking for a long time due to these unruly teeth.
Thanks to our friends at Austin Corner Vet, Millie received the surgery she needed to live a happier and healthier life in her new home.
In all, Austin Corner Vet removed the two upper canines and the two lower canines - so prominently protruding from her mouth - along with two carnassials, two incisors and two molars. Along with all the extractions, Millie received a full dental cleaning for her remaining teeth.
