New medical equipment to save more animals!

We are so excited to announce that we received a $50,000 grant from Maddie's Fund for medical equipment. This is going to allow us to save more animals efficiently and we're incredibly thankful for the funds to purchase the equipment.

With these funds, we've bought:

• Digital x-ray machine!  This is the most exciting piece, but we don't have it in our possession yet.  We'll post again when it arrives! We spend a lot of money sending animals out to 3rd parties to be x-rayed.  This machine will allow us to x-ray animals at our clinic immediately.


• IV pumps - We often have critical parvo puppies that require IV fluid therapy to help them with dehydration and receiving medication. The IV pumps allow us to administer fluids at a constant rate (too much or too little fluids could be fatal)  24hours a day. Our older pumps were worn with use and age and were larger and clunkier than our new ones.


• High quality surgical tools


• Pulse oximeters - These help us monitor vital signs (heart rate and oxygenation levels) during any procedure that requires anesthesia and are incredibly important during surgery and recovery stages.  We already had two, but now have two more, so we can do more surgical procedures at the same time in our clinic.

About Maddie's Fund:  Maddie's Fund, The Pet Rescue Foundation (www.maddiesfund.org), is a family foundation which is funded by the founder of Workday and PeopleSoft, Dave Duffield and his wife, Cheryl.  Maddie's Fund is helping to create a no-kill nation where all healthy and treatable shelter dogs and cats are guaranteed a loving home.

To achieve this goal, Maddie's Fund is investing its resources in building community collaborations where animal welfare organizations come together to develop successful models of lifesaving; in veterinary colleges to help shelter medicine become part of the veterinary curriculum to train veterinarians to save the lives of sick and injured dogs and cats in animal shelters; and in the implementation of a national effort to promote accountability and transparency in animal shelter operations.  Maddie's Fund is named after the family's beloved Miniature Schnauzer who passed away in 1997.
