After a year of discussions, we're getting closer to finalizing plans with the city to move into the TLAC space at Lady Bird Lake when Animal Services moves their location to Levander Loop.
We're excited about the possibility to increase our adoptions to save thousands more pets every year. This space will allow us to have a sanctuary for cats with FeLV (a disease that is contagious and deadly, but most cats can live happily and healthily for years after the diagnosis), and more space for special needs pets, like geriatrics and nursing moms.
We're also excited about a new partnership with the Park's Off-leash Committee to expand our Healthy Dogs/Healthy People program at Lady Bird Lake. We want to make this space into a vibrant community center, focused on healthy living.
