Justin Lott AKA "Nomadic Justin" is taking on the ride of his life, and he isn't doing it alone. Mook, his 65 lb. lab/pointer mix, will be along for the ride.
Mook rescued Justin in Michigan. The 65 lb. lab/pointer mix anxiously awaited his forever human at the Capital AreaHumane Society in Michigan and at two years old, he found the one he'd been waiting for. Since then, the two have been riding across the country together.
"One of my desires is that Mook will help me to promote responsible pet ownership and highlight the challenges faced by animal shelters in the United States," says Justin.
Over the past several months, the duo has been preparing for one of their biggest adventures yet: The Adventure Cycling TransAmerica Trail. In an effort to raise money for Austin Pets Alive!, Justin and Mook will be cycling from Yorktown, VA to Astoria, OR.
Yep, you heard that right.
The trail, at approximately 4,232 miles (no big deal, right?), crosses the United States from coast to coast and Justin's goal is to make this trek in just four months time, with a dog and trailer in tow. He has sold all of his possessions in order to make this dream a reality and we are honored that he has chosen Austin Pets Alive! to benefit from this ride.
We will continue to update everyone on his progress. For more information, please follow Justin!
