Nulo Launches “Petsgiving” Campaign to Feed Austin Shelter Animals For The Holidays
Nov 16, 2010
Austin-based natural pet food company Nulo will match customer orders
with donated meals to Austin Pets Alive! and Animal Trustees of Austin.
For every $25 customer order placed nationwide, the Austin-based pet food company will donate one pet Thanksgiving dinner to Austin Pets Alive! or Animal Trustees of Austin. Each dinner includes Nulo’s turkey and sweet potato recipe for dogs or turkey recipe for cats, plus cranberry and chicken treats for dessert.
These traditional Thanksgiving ingredients are part of Nulo’s nutritional formula year-round. The company aims to produce the most nutrient-dense, transparently labeled cat and dog foods on the market. In place of the usual meat by-products, Nulo uses all-natural, single-source proteins like turkey, chicken, lamb and salmon. It also chooses nutrient-rich, low-glycemic carbohydrates like sweet potatoes and brown rice rather than corn and other cheap fillers that have become ubiquitous in commercial pet foods.
“Keeping animals healthy is our passion – we love hearing customers’ stories of the increased happiness, energy levels and coat luster that results from their pets’ improved nutrition. We want shelter pets to enjoy these same benefits so they can be at their best as they meet potential adoptive parents. Plus, we want to thank our shelter partners for all they do every day to improve animal welfare.” - Nulo CEO Michael Landa.
