This orange creamsicle cutie has come a long way in just a few short days. He arrived at Town Lake Animal Center in bad shape with vicious wounds on his two front legs and on his side. They were so bad that he walked only on this back legs. We are not sure who or what hurt this poor animal - a trap? dog? car? But that didn't seem to phase Quentin. Even though he must have been in great pain he was still resilient. He was unafraid of the crazy shelter environment. He meowed, purred and loved getting attention from anyone who would walk by.

Quentin's severe injuries landed him on the euthanasia list but APA! volunteers saw that he was healing and took a chance on him. A foster parent brought Quentin into her home.

Today he is doing so much better! Quentin is still as talkative as ever but now he can walk on his front paws again. He is still not completely back to normal but his wounds are healing and he is making a steady recovery.

"Quentin is doing very well!" says Quentin's foster mom. "I picked him up last Saturday. That was a rough day for him, but he has been a trooper... napping a lot, taking all his medicine, letting me clean him up, and even allowing me to put warm compresses on his legs. He has improved dramatically over the course of a few days.

"I knew he was feeling better when I caught him sneaking out of his room and making biscuits on the hall rug! He has a healthy appetite and loves belly rubs! In the mornings, he likes to come out of his private quarters for a brief walk around the house, finding a couple new points of interest each day. After about five minutes of that, he retires to his room for a nap. In the evening, I bring him on to the couch, and we watch movies together. He has had lots of visitors and loves the attention. He is a talker if you are in the same room with him, and he likes a reply.

"He is on antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory and still has sniffles from a URI. Quentin is FIV+ so he will be an indoor cat from now on, though that doesn't seem to bother him!"

Here is a short video of Quentin in the shelter. You can hear him purring instantly and trying to get closer to people even though he cannot move easily.
