Linda Rulifson is a true inspiration to everyone around her. Her amazing attitude and kind heart are infectious and she embodies the true spirit of service. We all appreciate her and Austin Pets Alive! is so lucky to have her as a volunteer. Linda's a tireless volunteer who has performed more jobs within APA! than anyone can count...transporting, volunteer coordination, dog walking, building greeting, laundry, and tons more... thank you, Linda!
Here are just a few of the many amazing things people have to say about Linda:
"Momma Linda," as we call her, is often the highlight of my day! She never misses an opportunity to cuddle on a dog (even if it's mangy!), offer a hug or kind word to a counselor, or share her smile with the public. She is completely selfless, always offering her time and energy and amazing attitude. She makes the volunteer coordination team a joy to be a part of and I am fortunate enough to call her my friend. She is a wonderful volunteer and a wonderful person. The animals are lucky to have her and so are we! Thanks for everything Momma Linda! ~Ariana
I love the story of how Linda talks to the dogs every time "she breaks them out of jail" (those are her own words). She talks to them in the car and tells them that they will be ok and safe now, and that the old life is over, and a better one is on the way. I find Linda to be one of the most gentle souls at the building. I think everyone feels like the world will be "ok" when ever they hang around Linda. She has a gift of being very inspiring both in her language and her actions. ~ Miki
Linda has been a tremendous help to me, coordinating with the Bowie kids on Fridays and chipping in herself when I've had too much on my plate. A very sweet, gentle person who contributes a lot. ~ Frank
"Momma Linda" as we call her, is an incredible woman with an incredible heart. You can always count on her to get the job done and to keep you laughing while she's doing it. I feel so lucky to have her a part of APA! and get to see her almost every day! ~ Tessa
Linda is amazing. She is always willing to help out wherever needed, whether it is folding laundry, transporting a dog or cat from TLAC, picking up a sick dog from site, organizing groups of high school kids to volunteer, cleaning the office, cuddling a scared chihuahua, or just giving hugs to overwhelmed staff members. She is definitely the highlight of my day!! ~ Holly
