Continuing to pursue a No Kill Austin is a community effort, but one that is just as fun as it is rewarding. Our second annual Wagathon Walkathon is a great opportunity to show your support for our program and Austin’s No Kill momentum, and bring your family, friends, and dogs out for a fun day at the Hill Country Galleria. Our proud, generous sponsors at Continental Automotive Group’s Austin Subaru help us put on an afternoon full of swag and super activities.
Last year, nearly 300 attendees brought over 100 dogs to walk the two-mile trail around the Hill Country Galleria.

Participants’ registration fees generated a stunning $8,750 for our program – beating our goal of $8,500! And, a highlight of the day was that two APA! dogs found their permanent homes. This year, we are shooting for 500 participants and as many dog-and-people friendly dogs as possible to join us to do it again. Our friends at Dodagdillo, Jamba Juice, and Amy’s Ice Cream are going to hook us up with doggie water stations and doggie snacks, thirst-quenching fruit smoothies, and doggie-friendly ice cream throughout the day. After we’ve finished the walk, a silent auction and other activities will be waiting.
Normal registration is taking place until February 29. We encourage participants to register now, and save $5 off registration. On the day of the walk, registration will be $30. The walk starts at noon on March 18. This is an easy and fun way to support our program and help maintain Austin’s No Kill momentum. See you there!
