A few weeks ago Austin Pets Alive rescued a litter of 3 puppies that were scheduled to be killed at the city shelter. Why weren't cute cuddly puppies deemed adoptable? Because they had spotty hairloss. As you can see, they were adorable even then. All three were adopted through our offsite adoption events. Today, I spotted one of the puppies, now named Abby, at a local Petsmart with her adoptive mom. Just a few weeks of love and good nutrition and see how wonderful she looks. Abby's "mom" told me that they are always stopped on walks by people commenting on how beautiful Abby is.
Many conditions like hair loss can be solved with just short-term care or minor medial intervention, but they are deadly in a shelter. You can help save puppies like these by volunteering to be a foster home for Austin Pets Alive!
