Aust in Pets Alive! has teamed up with Taurus Training and Doggy Play Day to bolster the visibility of their canine residents and provide additional support to families planning to adopt from APA!.
"We foster happier families by helping them develop good relationships with their dogs, which is especially important for newly formed families like those adopting from APA!," says Jessie Pascarelli, Taurus Training Marketing and Community Manager. "We wanted to find a way to use our unique skills to help dogs find (and keep!) their forever homes."
The Taurus Prep Program will feature a new dog each month. This dog will be visible in a Taurus facility and website. The program kicked off featuring Roman, a belly-rub loving, adventurous young man who would make a great sidekick for the outdoorsy type. Roman is featured in the Taurus location on Lamar.
Roman was selected for this program because Taurus Training is committed to intentional play groups for dogs which "could only benefit a dog like Roman!, says Pascarelli. "[Roman] also has an amazing temperament and personality... And, of course, he’s got that sweet, adorable face!"
When Roman finds a forever home, he and his family will receive a free Board and Train at any Taurus Training location. This intensive training program is in addition to the behavior assistance provided by Austin Pets Alive!.
The same is true for all future Taurus Prep dogs, which will be selected monthly.
Partnerships like this one are invaluable to Austin's no-kill status. The more exposure dogs like Roman receive and the more adoptable APA! dogs become, the more likely these dogs will find permanent homes. Ultimately, that means more lives saved.
