Vada came to Austin Pets Alive! from the shelter at just 4 weeks old with her brother, Vivaldi. At the shelter they were flagged as aggressive for biting, but when the transporters who picked them up for APA! and the medical staff saw them, they were super sweet! Understandably, the loud noises and smells of the shelter to a young kitten can be quite frightening.
After spending a few days in our Bottle Baby Nursery being cared for around the clock by volunteers, they went to foster where they thrived! The foster home included two small children who helped socialize and love the kittens. This child socialization proved to be incredibly important in her adoption.
Vada found her forever home during the APA! New Year's Adoption Weekend - the Bennett family! They LOVE her so much! Vada is most certainly the Queen of the house. The family reports that Vada has two switches: "On" and "Off", and when she's "On" she's ON! They're keeping her name, which means "Famous Ruler." How fitting!
My 3 kids have given her a lot of attention and new toys to play with. She's really doing great! What a great fit for us. Thank you so much for saving her and bringing her into our life.
The adopters also sent along some new photos of Vada in her new home. Congrats!
(note: Vada's brother, Vivaldi, was also adopted during the Holiday weekend)
